The honorable Bishop T.J. Rogers in his 34 years of dedicated service accomplished great works as pastor, father, friend, and within the community. Bishop T.J. Rogers, was born on December 18, 1925, at Number Nine, Arkansas, to Sam Rogers, Sr. and Matilda Danley Rogers. T.J. Rogers confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. From his matrimony to Louise Hall, they were blessed with six children. In 1963, T.J. Rogers and Tallie Ann Davis were united in holy matrimony, and to this union blessed with ten children.

In October, 1965 Bishop T.J. Rogers established Prince of Peace Church in Number Nine, AR. His first member was First Lady Tallie Rogers. She was appointed missionary, deacon, secretary and treasurer by Bishop E.J. Johnson. Bishop T.J. Rogers preached at Prince of Peace for one year at Yabro, AR. in the home of Jessie and Dolly Thompson. In 1966 Prince of Peace Church moved to Armorel, AR. were Bishop T.J. Rogers preached for over 30 years. This became a landmark. By March of 1998, Bishop T.J. Rogers relocated to Jeremiah Temple Church of Blytheville, AR. due to major maintenance problems. Here the churches began worshiping together. On May 30, 1999, Bishop T.J. Rogers celebrated with apporximately 850 people attending the New Prince of Peach Church dedication.

Because of his ministry and because he was a loving father, his children also began to do great works for the Lord: Most of the Prince of Peace congregation consisted of Bishop T.J. Rogers children, who were not only members but they also held positions at very young ages. Mrs. Connie Jackson (1954-2002) served as Secretary, Committee organizer and President of the Pastor's Aid. John A. Guyton, Jr. built the New Prince of Peace Church in 1999. Bishop Rogers nine daughters became the choir for Prince Of Peace and his youngest son was the drummer while Evangelist Barbara Mitchell accompanied her father with the organ. Bishop Rogers and First Lady Tallie Rogers blessed the community by establishing the Rogers Sisters, who performed several concerts not only in the community but also in several other states. Evangelist Barbara Mitchell, formally lead singer of the Rogers Sister, has two Gospel shows in the Dallas, TX area, as well as her current CD "Bring It Back Home". Pastor Linda Faye Pomerlee established the Love Abiding Christain Church in Mount Home, Idaho under the leadership of Bishop T.J. Rogers. His youngest son Reverend Timothy James Rogers is now fulfilling his service as the Pastor of Prince of Peace Church. Bishop Rogers grandson, Reverend Patrick Jackson is the Assistant Pastor of Prince of Peace Church.
PASTOR Within The COMMUNITY
In 1989 Bishop T.J. Rogers organized the Five Church Fellowship with local churches in the Blytheville area. Under this fellowship once a month these churches gathered together to worship and praise the Lord. In 1996 Bishop Rogers received an Honorary Doctorate Degree under the leadership of the late Dr. P.J. James. He was a member of the Mississippi County Black Cultural Association,and was the recipient of numerous awards from the community, churches, and other organizations.
